Sacraments to my grandmother in the form of 5 ceramic milk cartons repaired with lacquer, inspired by a letter she wrote to me. (…) For it is between you and me is a conversation about relationships, memories and of loss . The sculptures invite the viewer to make assumptions of its authenticity, invoking the duality of presence and absence.
A video of a performance done at the Kashii shrine to no audience. In the performance I ritualistically read a list of words from behind a translucent piece of silk with a circular shape cut out from Washi paper stuck onto it. The words read are a list of gendered words in Japanese, Vietnamese and English. All words are original or translations of characters with the 女 radical.
