“Portraits: of you, for you; for me” consists of a series of portraits, some figurative and some abstract. The abstract paintings are made using Vietnamese lacquer and portray a colour I deeply associate with my grandmother, conjured from my blurred memory. The rest are watercolour portraits of her, frail and distant.
