Two Lacquer paintings are shown in a traditional Japanese bathroom, the symbols of the start and end to a mourning process. A space of memory and respect is created for my deceased grandmother. The bathroom is an important space in Japanese homes and taking baths are comparable to a ritualistic act. The space is purified using Morishios, small salt mounds placed on the tiles of the floor. Its familiar shape eloquently points upwards towards the spiritual realm.
